On the LeashIf you’re camping with your cat, you’ll certainly want to bring a leash along. Leashes are handy for walking your cat and letting it explore your campsite in a safe and secure way. If you’re going to be sitting outside in your campsite and want to have your cat out with you, attaching a long leash or chain to the RV is a good way to let it wander around without getting lost. Harnesses Because cats are good at squirming out of collars, use a harness when you take your cat out on a leash. Figure-eight harnesses and H-shaped harnesses work best. Get your cat used to wearing the harness indoors first, without a leash. Gradually work your way up to heading out on the leash with the harness on. Identification When you’re camping, make sure your cat always wears a collar with an ID tag on it. If you’ll be away from home for a while, put your cell phone number on the tag so rescuers can get a hold of you right away. |
